2015ARM ST National Undergraduate Smart Equipment Innovation Competition ended successfully at ST China Headquarters

    2015 ARM ST The 3rd National Undergraduate Smart Equipment Innovation Competition ended successfully in STMicroelectronics China (hereinafter referred to as ST) China Headquarters. Hosted by ARM and ST, the competition was hosted by 360eet Electronic Engineering Network. It was launched in March and lasted for 9 months. After three stages of preliminaries, rematches and finals, it attracted more than 800 schools from 203 colleges and universities in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and autonomous regions. The team and more than 2,000 teachers and students participated.

    The College Student Smart Equipment Innovation Competition is an electronic design competition for students from universities and research institutes in China. It aims to stimulate college students' design passion and cultivate their innovative consciousness, practical ability and engineering practice ability. The closing ceremony and finals lasted two days and the event kicked off at the opening ceremony of Mr. Arnaud Julienne, Senior Director of ST GC&SA MMS. Specially invited by Mr. He Xiaoqing, an expert in embedded specialization at the School of Software, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Yang Yanjun, deputy director of the Institute of Information Science and Technology, Peking University, and Professor Han Deqiang, professor of embedded systems at the Department of Architecture, School of Computer Science, Beijing University of Technology, Zhejiang University Mr. Yang Jianyi, Associate Dean of the School of Information and Electronic Engineering, Mr. Liu Yiqing, Professor of Communication Engineering Department, School of Information Science and Technology, East China Normal University, Lilian Yao, MCU Application Manager of ST China, and David Chen, Program Manager of ARM Asia Pacific University, served as judges. 21 teams from East China Normal University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, South China University of Technology, Shandong University of Science and Technology, and Jinan University highlighted the team and entered the finals. During the two-day finals, the contestants presented the works to the judges through project explanations, defenses, and project presentations. After fierce competition, the "Intelligent Text Reading System Based on Image Processing" from the Lab440 (V1.1) team of East China Normal University won the first prize and won the special award. Suihua College team DREAM TEAM and Jinan University team Conquer won the first prize.

    The overall level of the competition is high, covering different application areas such as sensors, motion control, wireless access, and mobile phone applications. I understand that integrating and mastering these technologies and algorithms is a huge and difficult challenge. In the closing ceremony, Mr. Julienne highly praised the outstanding performances and creative works of the finalists. Thanks to all the 800 teams who signed up for the competition. And work hard to show unlimited creativity on the stage of the ARM ST contest.

    The College Student Smart Device Innovation Competition has been successfully held for three sessions as part of the ARM and ST Academy program. With the increasing manpower and material input of the main and contractors, the influence of the competition will continue to rise in the future. The ARM and ST University programs will also help more students to successfully apply smart devices for technological innovation.
