China's new generation of artificial intelligence development strategy research institute released two special reports on the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Industry Regional Development Competitiveness Evaluation Index" and "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Technology Driven Intelligent Industry Development" undertaken by Nankai University.
The “New Generation Artificial Intelligence Industry Regional Development Competitiveness Evaluation Index†report is based on six levels of enterprise strength, investment ability, innovation ability of university and non-university research institutes, linker ability, government response capability, and innovation ecosystem openness. The indicators and 19 secondary indicators evaluate the level of regional competitiveness of China's smart industry development.
In the ranking of China's intelligent industry regional competitiveness index, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu ranked first in the echelon, with scores of 80.3, 49.9, 34.2, 30.7 and 17.9 respectively. Shandong, Anhui, Hubei, Tianjin, Fujian, Sichuan, Chongqing, Liaoning, Guizhou and Heilongjiang ranked in the second echelon with scores of 9.8, 9.1, 6.1, 5.9, 5.4, 5.3, 5.0, 4.1, 3.6, and 3.2, respectively. Among the top 15 provinces and cities, except for the economically developed coastal areas, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Chongqing and Guizhou in the central and western regions are among them.
Among the three major economic circles, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei ranked first with a score of 80.6, the Yangtze River Delta ranked second with 60.7 points, and the Pearl River Delta ranked third with 45.6 points. Under the strong traction of the intelligent demand created by economic transformation and upgrading, the three economic circles are at the forefront of smart technology and industrial development.
