Cree's new CMA high current series COB provides first-class light output, efficacy and reliability

Cree (NASDAQ: CREE) today announced the launch of the new XLamp High Current CMA series, which delivers higher lumen density and efficacy for metal-based COB devices.

The CMA Series COB devices are optimized for large drive currents and provide up to 2.5 times the lumen density of the Cirrus standard density CXB series COB devices. The CMA series is compatible with the CXB series of existing fixed couplings and optical packages, allowing lighting manufacturers to significantly increase the lumen output of their lighting products with minimal design changes.

Andrea Gallucci, head of the optical and electronics division of Artemide, said: "Creek is a very innovative partner in the field of LED lighting with its customers' needs as the direction of innovation. Due to the compatibility of the high current CMA series with the standard density CXB series, we It's easy to provide more visual impact while maintaining the same optical options and color quality choices customers expect. The new CMA series will bring rapid performance improvements to our signature and innovative luminaire design."

The CMA series uses innovative metal-based COB technology to provide greater reliability than other existing competitive metal-based COB options. In addition, the CMA series can be mounted directly on the heatsink, simplifying the luminaire manufacturing process and reducing system cost.

Dave Emerson, executive vice president and general manager of Cree LED, said: "Through unremitting innovation, our scientists have achieved fundamental technological breakthroughs that significantly increase the light output and lumen maintenance of the CMA series beyond the existing metal-based COB. Cree's ceramic-based and metal-based COB technologies provide superior lumen density and reliability to meet customer needs."

The CMA series currently includes five COB devices with luminescent surface LES sizes ranging from 9 to 23 mm to meet a variety of application needs. The CMA series features Cree EasyWhite binning, color temperature range of 2,700 K - 6,500 K, standard options for 70, 80, 90 CRI, and includes high color fidelity (98 CRI) and exceptional color quality Premium Color options for special color points. .

Sample requests are now available for the CMA series and can be mass produced according to standard delivery times.
