    Google has passed a new patent. From the patent content, Google seems to be installing a self-cleaning system on its own unmanned car. For an unmanned vehicle, it is a complicated matter to ensure that it is sensitive to detecting road conditions and safely arriving from the starting point. In order to solve this problem, Google has sensors installed at all angles of its unmanned body. They consist of a camera, a radar sensor, and a laser-based sensor called a laser radar.

    However, these sensors are not enough. In order to ensure the acuity of these sensors, these sensors are also guaranteed to be not damaged or soiled. Therefore, Google protects the sensors on the unmanned body with a glass cover.

    But the question is, what if the outside cover is dirty? This self-cleaning system designed by Google is to solve this problem. It detects when these covers are dirty and cleans them autonomously.

    The cleaning system consists of multiple wipers that protect the detector's glass cover 360 degrees. In terms of patents, in addition to the wiper, it also comes with a cleaning fluid. When the wiper is activated, it is also released at the same time, assisting the wiper to complete the cleaning work quickly.

    It seems that this is just an inconspicuous design, but for an unmanned vehicle that relies heavily on sensor-aware road conditions, such a small design is very important.

    Google has also made many attempts in security. In addition to these subtle designs on the body, Google recently began recruiting professional drivers with excellent driving records to participate in the data feedback monitoring of unmanned vehicles. They operate unmanned vehicles for 6 to 8 hours a day, and compare data from when people are involved in operating the car and when they are unmanned, and feedback to Google's technical team to optimize the design of the unmanned vehicle.
