Molex , the world's leading electronic components company, introduces the innovative Mini50 unsealed connector system for small, unsealed wire-to-board connector systems. This connector system is the industry's smallest automotive-grade unsealed system and is the only USCAR certified Interface products for unsealed transport vehicle environments.

USCAR (the US Council for Automotive Research) supports collaborative research and development of advanced automotive technologies. Compared to traditional USCAR 0.64mm connectors, the Mini50 USCAR 050 certified interface provides 50% space savings with minimal terminals to fit in. Low current circuits in the environment of unsealed transport vehicles in the cabin. The compact connector is suitable for space-constrained applications such as lighting, radio, navigation systems, HVAC systems, mirrors and cameras. Compared to conventional 0.64mm end systems, they can reduce overall harness weight by allowing wire harness customers to crimp and process smaller wire gauges.

The Mini50 connection system features a separate secondary locking (ISL) unit that reduces the number of components as part of the enclosure. In addition, PCB connectors are available with vertical and right angle guidance for wire routing and module design flexibility. They also use a high temperature thermoplastic housing that withstands infrared (IR) and lead-free wave soldering at temperatures up to +260oC.

Available in single-row, 4 and 8-circuit models and dual-row, 12-circuit models, the Molex Mini50 4/8/12 circuit interface is selected as the standard 050 interface by USCAR, and the Mini50 4, 8 and 12 circuit connectors are equipped with through holes and SMT models and meet USCAR standards.
