Series of two-terminal automatic X capacitor discharge IC to meet the IEC 62368 standard, which covers television and new general IT equipment safety standard . The CAPZero product line eliminates power consumption and enables power supplies to meet safety standards. The new standard will replace IEC 60950 and IEC 60065 and become mandatory.

The CAPZero ICs are intelligent high voltage switches that are connected in series with resistors that provide a safe discharge path for the X capacitors of the power supply. Without this switching mechanism, these discharge resistors produce a constant power drain when AC is turned on, resulting in significant no-load and standby input power consumption. After applying an AC voltage, the CAPZero X Capacitor Discharge IC blocks the current flowing to the discharge resistor, which reduces the power loss in these components to zero. After the AC voltage is de-energized, CAPZero automatically discharges the X capacitor safely by turning off the circuit and keeping the power away from the exposed AC plug.
