The City of New York is ready for a new era. They have removed the old streetlights that have been in use for more than half a century and replaced them with brighter, more energy-efficient, longer-lived LED fixtures.
Each lamp head has more than 100 LEDs that deliver uniform brightness and deploys three styles depending on the area: park, street, and building. LEDs reduce energy consumption by 30% compared to previous high-pressure sodium bulbs, and the modular design of the fixture allows for easy replacement of components. By next year, all fixtures in this city will be LEDized.
