According to industry news on August 8, BOE is currently investing in an ultra-small-size Micro OLED production line in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Following Samsung Display, BOE began to produce Micro OLED panels for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
In August last year, BOE issued an announcement on its investment in the production line of OLED microdisplay devices. According to the announcement, BOE intends to cooperate with Yunnan Northern Ored Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., Gaoping Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., and Yunnan Dianzhong Industrial Development Group Co., Ltd. Responsible companies cooperated and jointly invested 1.15 billion yuan to build the country's first large-scale OLED micro-display device production line project in Kunming, Yunnan Province, engaged in the production, sales and research and development of OLED micro-display devices.
It is understood that the total investment of the project is 1.15 billion yuan. The project company is Kunming BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd. The construction site is in the Airport Economic and Technological Development Zone, Dianzhong New District, Kunming. The main products are: 0.5 inch 800×600, 0.41 inch 800× 480, 0.80-inch 1920×1200, 0.5-inch 1920×1080 OLED micro-display devices, with a total production capacity of 1 million pieces/year.
