China Eastern Airlines debuts self-service online inquiry service for legacy items

Yesterday, Eastern Airlines announced that it will launch self-checking services for legacy items for cabins for the first time in China. This will greatly facilitate passengers' enquiries and timely retrieval of items left on the aircraft.

Eastern Airlines said that at present its self-service inquiry system has fulfilled the inquiry function of all flights from Hongqiao and Pudong Airport to Eastern Airlines. Passengers only need to log in to CEAC's official website, click on the “Luggage Leftovers Query” control in the “Travel Wizard”, and enter information such as the airport name, the flight number they took, and the flight date to start self-checking. In order to ensure the interests of passengers, the system only displays the type of items. The details of the specific items also need to be contacted by Pudong East and Hongqiao Luggage Enquiry Department. In addition, passengers can also call the Eastern Airlines service hotline 95530 to consult relevant information.

It is reported that in the second phase of the development of the system, in order to improve the convenience of the query, China Eastern's lost item self-service query interface will also provide passengers with lost pictures and fuzzy search functions, so that more lost items as soon as possible return to the original owner.

China Eastern Airlines reminds its passengers: when collecting the leftovers, they must bring their ID card or passport and the original boarding pass to complete the formalities; when entrusting others to handle the matter, they must hold the original power of attorney, the valid identity of the client, and the passenger’s ID card or passport. The original boarding pass may only be collected.
