The flow meter is an advanced instrument for measuring the fluid flow in the pipeline online. It has a common application in the petroleum, chemical, paper, metallurgical and other industries, and is constantly developing in the direction of intelligence. This article introduces a new intelligent flowmeter developed with MSP430F449 microcontroller. The basic principle is: relying on the rotation of the component, using an optical encoder or a magnetic sensor to generate an electrical pulse signal, and sending it to a flow calculation device composed of a single chip microcomputer for processing. The flowmeter adopts new intelligent instrument technology such as data correction, digital filtering, multi-output form, self-diagnosis and power-down protection, as well as dual power supply system and dual sensor technology, which makes it more adaptable to various complicated working environments.
