However, the rapid development of the industry has also exposed some potential problems, that is, the timing of automatic driving can be landing at the beginning of commercial operations.
Prior to this, Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Fiat Chrysler Motors, warned that “the hustle and bustle in the field of autonomous driving will make you waste a lot of wealth.â€
It is reported that in recent years, American automotive and technology companies have invested about 40-50 billion U.S. dollars in autopilot technology. This figure is mainly based on related acquisitions or cooperation. But it is difficult to make statistics in the entire field. For example, a large company such as Google’s parent company, Alphabet, although it is considered to have invested billions of dollars in this field, its subsidiaries are usually considered to be autonomous vehicles. Waymo, the leader in the field, did not disclose specific investment data.
