According to recent reports from Japanese media, a research team led by Professor Yoshihiro Tani from the University of Tokyo has made a breakthrough in flexible display technology. The team has successfully developed a thin LED display that can be directly attached to the human body, opening up new possibilities in both fashion and medical applications.
In their experiments, the researchers also created a film that could work with sensors on the body to display real-time ECG data. According to Dye, a member of the team, this technology could one day replace smartphones or tablets for displaying information, offering a more convenient and wearable solution.
The display is just 1 mm thick and can stretch, allowing it to show video content measuring between 3.8 to 6.4 cm in length and 5.8 to 9.6 cm in width—roughly the size of a business card. This makes it highly portable and adaptable for various uses.
The flexible screen is made from a rubber-like film embedded with 384 tiny red LEDs. Thanks to a special pleating process, the display has been tested for over 10,000 stretching cycles without any damage to the LEDs, ensuring long-term durability. The screen is also equipped with its own power source.
Dainippon Printing Company, a partner in the research, is working on further miniaturizing the technology. They hope to bring the product to market within three years, with an estimated price of tens of thousands of yen. This innovation could revolutionize how we interact with digital displays, making them more integrated into our daily lives.
Optical fiber flange adapter is a device for detachable (movable) connectionbetween optical fibers, and it is a connecting component in optical fiber movableconnector. The optical fibers are connected by adapters through their internalopen sleeves to ensure the highest connection performance. In order to fix onvarious panels, a variety of fine fixing flanges are also designed. The conversionadapter can connect different types of optical fiber Patch Cord interfaces and provide connections between different end faces.
