The “National Phase-out of Incandescent Lamps and Accelerated Promotion of Energy-Saving Lamps Project†proposed by the National Development and Reform Commission and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was approved by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). According to the project concept paper, the GEF grants $14 million and a $250,000 project reserve. The main content of the project is to promote the transformation of incandescent lamp production enterprises, accelerate the improvement of energy-saving lamp promotion mechanism, and formulate and implement China's roadmap and special plans for phasing out incandescent lamps and accelerating the promotion of energy-saving lamps.
