Greenlight Insights recently released the "Virtual Reality Industry Report: Fall 2016" market research report jointly with VR Media RoadtoVR. According to Greenlight Insights, the revenue of the US VR market will be in the "inflection point" in the next 5 years, and then will reach in 2026. $38 billion in revenue.
Clifton Dawson, executive director of Greenlight Insights, said: "The launch of PlaystaTIon VR and Microsoft's entry is very important, but we have found some key changes that will change the trajectory of the entire VR industry. From connecting VR to one A clear shift in the development of the head, several 5G technologies in major global markets, and non-entertainment applications of virtual reality will promote market development after 2020.
Greenlight pointed out that the future technologies that need to be improved include: portability, comfort, high resolution, low latency, head positioning tracking, room-scale positioning tracking, eye tracking technology and spatial sound effects.
Greenlight predicts that by 2020, games will remain the mainstay of the consumer VR market. But after 2020, the corporate market will exceed the consumer market and will account for 58.9% of revenue. Greenlight predicts that VR hardware (head-up, VR cameras, and others) will account for 61% of the total revenue of the VR industry in 2026. The revenue of a 360-degree camera (VR camera) will be close to $4.6 billion in 2026.
Stephen Marshall, senior vice president of Greenlight Insights, said: "Many observations have made very optimistic predictions for the VR industry. In this fast-moving industry, the most useful predictions are a combination of VR, AR and MR models. And unique use cases and market drivers. This is what Greenlight is doing in this new forecast."
