Molex has recently expanded its heavy-duty connector product line following the acquisition of the GWconnect® series from Westec Srl, an Italian industrial connector manufacturer. The GWconnect connectors are designed to deliver exceptional mechanical strength and vibration resistance, making them ideal for power, control, and signal circuits in demanding industrial environments.
The new line is UL/CSA-certified and meets IP66, IP67, or IP69K (EN 60529) standards, ensuring protection against dust, water, and even high-pressure washing. This makes them suitable for applications in harsh conditions such as control panels, robotics, industrial automation, food and beverage processing, rail systems, commercial vehicles, and renewable energy equipment.
Rixy Comini, Director of Business Development at Molex, stated, “The GWconnect connectors complement our trusted Brad® solutions and enhance our industrial automation portfolio.†She emphasized that these connectors are built to perform reliably in challenging environments, whether for specialized applications or high-volume automated assembly processes.
The GWconnect connectors are manufactured using die-cast aluminum alloy with a polyester powder coating. They come in a range of housing materials and mounting options. The inserts are made from UL 94V-0 thermoplastic, featuring screw terminals, terminal blocks, spring terminals, crimp terminals, and plug-in options. Special gaskets protect the internal components from dust, moisture, and chemicals, while the contact pins are coated with hard silver or gold-plated copper to ensure long-lasting performance and reliability.
Additionally, a full range of stamped crimp terminal products is available in reel packaging, supporting automated crimping operations. The sealed GWconnect solution includes a brake lock system that prevents accidental disconnection, enhancing safety and durability in industrial settings.
Whether customers require robust connectivity for complex systems or consistent performance in mass production, Molex’s GWconnect connectors offer a reliable and versatile solution for today’s most demanding industrial applications.
OEM PCs are manufactured by a company that produces hardware according to the specifications provided by another company. The purchasing company then sells the product under its own brand name. ODM PCs, on the other hand, are designed and manufactured by a company that offers complete product solutions, including design, engineering, and production. The customer can then customize the product to meet their specific needs and market requirements.
Tailored to Specific Needs: By customizing a PC, customers can ensure that it meets their exact requirements for performance, functionality, and aesthetics. This results in a more efficient and enjoyable computing experience.
Brand Differentiation: For companies looking to sell PCs under their own brand, customization allows them to differentiate their products from competitors and offer unique features and designs.
Cost-Effective Solutions: Customization can often lead to more cost-effective solutions, as customers can choose only the components and features they need, rather than paying for unnecessary extras.
Faster Time to Market: ODM manufacturers can often provide faster time to market, as they have the expertise and resources to design and manufacture products quickly.
In conclusion, OEM and ODM PCs that support customized services offer a flexible and powerful computing solution for diverse activities. Whether it's for gaming, business, content creation, industrial applications, or education, customization allows customers to create a PC that is tailored to their specific needs and requirements.
