Vivid Vision uses VR to provide a visually impaired treatment system such as amblyopia

Virtual reality is making a big impact in the medical field, from employee training to assisting in patient treatment. One company leading this innovation is Vivid Vision, which uses VR technology to help individuals with visual impairments such as amblyopia and strabismus. Today, the company has officially launched its latest product: Vivid Vision Home, a new visual therapy system designed to make treatment more engaging and effective.

Vivid Vision Home combines immersive VR games with personalized vision tests tailored to each patient’s needs. The goal is to replace traditional methods like eye patches or eye drops with a more interactive and enjoyable approach. This not only makes therapy more appealing, especially for children, but also helps improve compliance and results over time.

The company first introduced a clinical version in October 2015 for optometrists and schools, followed by a beta release last year. Now, Vivid Vision is bringing a fully polished version to the market, compatible with major VR platforms like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, and Google Daydream. This broad compatibility ensures that more clinics and practitioners can access the system easily.

Manish Gupta, co-founder and CTO of Vivid Vision, shared his thoughts on the launch: “We’ve worked hard to make Vivid Vision accessible and user-friendly for everyone. We believe now is the right time to bring Vivid Vision Home to the public, and we’re confident that the system will continue to improve over time.”

Although Vivid Vision Home is primarily used by ophthalmologists, patients interested in the therapy can visit the Vivid Vision website to find a certified provider. Currently, over 100 clinics across North America and Europe are registered, offering this innovative treatment to those in need. As VR continues to evolve, solutions like Vivid Vision Home are paving the way for more advanced and patient-centered healthcare options.
