Nvidia's new self-driving car computer can support Level 5

    Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, recently unveiled a groundbreaking new computer system tailored for self-driving cars. The company introduced the DRIVE PX Pegasus AI computer, which is designed to support Level 5 autonomous vehicles. It can replace all the computing hardware currently used in Level 5 autonomous vehicles, delivering an impressive 320 teraflops of processing power per second. Additionally, the platform is said to have the intelligence equivalent to 100 data centers, making it one of the most advanced systems in the industry. The DRIVE PX Pegasus is expected to play a key role in the development of "robotaxis"—self-driving taxis that operate without any human input. These vehicles will be equipped with cutting-edge computing capabilities, capable of handling complex driving scenarios while ensuring the highest level of passenger safety. To accelerate the adoption of this technology, NVIDIA has partnered with over 25 companies to develop fully autonomous taxis that will run on its latest platform. The company plans to provide these partners with next-generation GPUs, which are set to launch later this year.
