AICRobo's first self-delivered robots successfully tested

On October 19, 2017, AICRobo's industrial robots made their debut in a real-world setting at a leading electronics manufacturer's factory in Shenzhen. This marked a significant milestone as the robots underwent rigorous field testing and successfully passed all evaluations. Their performance earned high praise from partners, delivering a strong "on-the-line" result for tasks involving both removal and delivery. ![AICRobo Industrial Robots](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/00/19/7D/D58CA00FC4m.png) This achievement followed another breakthrough earlier that year, when AICRobo’s storage picking robots were tested in a major e-commerce company’s warehouse. The latest field tests introduced new applications for AICRobo’s industrial robots, expanding beyond autonomous transport to include advanced mobile technologies such as laser radar and inertial navigation integration. These innovations allowed seamless integration into existing workshop management systems, simplifying material handling and supporting smart factory upgrades while significantly boosting productivity. During the initial planning phase, the factory’s management team expressed a need to streamline two critical steps: material handling and transportation. In response, AICRobo engineers conducted extensive research and scenario analysis, leveraging their core autonomous mobility technology to develop a tailored solution called “Autonomous Handling.” This solution was quickly deployed and tested on-site. In practice, AICRobo’s robots follow predefined procedures set by production engineers to move materials between storage and production areas. When arriving at a storage location, the robot uses secondary positioning markers to locate shelves accurately. It then transports the materials and shelves to the production area, where workers simply wait for the arrival of the shelves. After the materials are removed, the robot returns the empty shelves to designated locations. Throughout this process, the robot effectively avoids various obstacles—transparent barriers, reflective surfaces, overhead structures, and low-level objects—thanks to its advanced autonomous navigation system. The introduction of AICRobo’s self-contained handling robots has simplified transportation processes, reduced labor costs, and increased workshop efficiency. Additionally, the system requires minimal modifications to the existing workshop environment, keeping implementation costs manageable. This flexibility makes AICRobo’s autonomous handling solution ideal for a wide range of industrial automation needs. As a leading provider of autonomous mobile solutions for robots, AICRobo has developed a comprehensive software and hardware architecture that enhances robot autonomy. Their system integrates robotic algorithms, software engineering, embedded hardware, and electronic components, enabling high levels of independent operation without the need for guidance lines or two-dimensional codes. Each component is customizable, allowing for precise monitoring, quick repairs, and optimal configuration based on specific requirements. AICRobo’s AICANS intelligent mobile system, launched in late 2016, has continuously evolved. Version 2.0, released in July 2017, includes advanced features like environmental mapping, real-time positioning, intelligent obstacle avoidance, path planning, and autonomous recharging. The system supports multiple sensors and offers a secondary development interface, making it highly adaptable. The “environmental construction” feature allows for rapid map creation and personalized editing, including setting stop points and restricted zones. With intelligent obstacle avoidance, the robot can predict and avoid moving obstacles using laser radar, ultrasonic sensors, and depth cameras. Even transparent barriers or floating objects are handled smoothly. The autonomous recharging function ensures the robot can return to a charging station automatically when power is low, reducing operational burden. Currently, AICRobo’s robots are performing well in both the Shenzhen factory of a top electronics manufacturer and in e-commerce warehouses. Each test has yielded impressive results, strengthening partnerships with key clients and reinforcing AICRobo’s position as an industry leader in autonomous mobile robotics.
