There's also a term called the “Practical Hybrid Cloud,†which blends traditional enterprise data centers with public clouds. This model exists because many companies have grown dissatisfied with private clouds and now seek to integrate their existing infrastructure with public cloud services.

These teams often choose different providers and hope that enterprise IT can manage them later.
Regardless of how it happens, most companies today operate in a cloudy environment.
While many IT departments still rely solely on the native tools provided by each cloud vendor, some organizations are taking a smarter approach by abstracting complexity. By using tools like Cloud Management Platforms (CMPs) and Cloud Service Brokers (CSBs), they can manage multiple clouds as if they were a single system. However, this approach usually means sacrificing some unique features of each cloud, effectively adopting a “least common denominator†strategy.
