Keep your memory in your hands anytime, anywhere, paperang pocket portable pocket printer

Foreword: I’ve always had a soft spot for printers. The idea of being able to print images or ideas onto paper seems like a fantastic office supply. Some documents still need to be printed out. They’re more efficient when held in your hands, and you can mark them up too. When you need to share them, you can snap a picture and post it on platforms like WeChat Moments or Instagram. While these digital screens on iPads or smartphones are great, they can’t quite match the tactile satisfaction of holding a physical printout. That’s why I own an inkjet printer. For regular documents, I use one machine, while for photos, I rely on another. On-the-go moments call for a Polaroid or LG printer, allowing me to share the joy of printing anytime, anywhere. It feels great to send a circle of friends a printed keepsake. However, I've always lacked a portable printer that could keep up with my lifestyle. With my current setup, printing is confined to home or the office. Even though my printer is wireless, I still have to manually test and connect it each time, which can be tedious. Plus, A4 sheets often end up half-used, which feels wasteful. Cutting them down to size is a hassle, and they’re not portable. Even at home, printing smaller amounts of content isn't ideal—it’s like using a desktop computer when a tablet would suffice. I don’t need much; I just want a compact printer I can carry around. Something that connects to my phone and lets me print on demand. I’ve been looking for a compact thermal printer that’s easy to carry, with a built-in battery and affordable supplies. Ideally, it should only require paper, no ribbons or ink cartridges. While small ticket printers are usually geared towards cashiers or delivery services, they haven’t quite adapted well to mobile use. It wasn’t until Zhang Damo introduced me to the Paperang 喵喵 P1 thermal printer that I found what I was looking for. This portable printer is the first domestic wireless Bluetooth pocket printer, featuring a 1000mAh built-in lithium battery. According to official specs, it can print up to four volumes of paper continuously. Its sleek design makes it easy to carry around, and it connects via Bluetooth 4.0 directly to your phone without needing an app. You can even access basic editing features through the WeChat official account. The print size is 57 * 30mm with a resolution of up to 200dpi. The Paperang 喵喵 P1 is a game-changer. It's the first domestic wireless Bluetooth pocket printer, with a built-in 1000mAh lithium battery. According to the official specs, it can continuously print four volumes of paper. You can take it with you wherever you go and print whenever you want. No Wi-Fi needed—just Bluetooth 4.0 connection to your mobile phone. And you don’t even need an app. If you follow its WeChat public account, you can achieve simple editing, printing, and output sizes of 57 * 30mm with a definition of up to 200dpi. Additionally, the value proposition is strong with zero reviews, original content, and two positive endorsements. Shipping Box: Soon enough, the Paperang 喵喵 P1 arrived in my mailbox. The first thing I noticed was how similar it looked to my Polaroid mini25. Before purchasing, I had always been cautious about consumables. Common complaints about thermal printers included two major issues: 1) thermal paper containing bisphenol A, and 2) fading over time. After some research, I discovered that both original and compatible printing paper without BPA exist. The price difference is noticeable, so I decided to opt for BPA-free paper. Interestingly, I also found some paper designed for long-term storage. The packaging is simple and minimalistic, with a white box adorned with a subtle pattern. On the back, there’s a booklet that highlights its dimensions: 83 * 83 * 45mm and a weight of 120g. It’s square-shaped and very lightweight. Notably, there’s only a Bluetooth logo and no Wi-Fi logo, meaning remote automatic printing isn’t possible. On the sides, you’ll notice the key selling points of this printer:随时随地与朋友分享笔记、照片打印等。 Opening the box reveals a compact printer that resembles a small camera. Did the designer intend this? When considering consumables, I learned about two common complaints about thermal printers: 1) thermal paper containing bisphenol A, and 2) fading over time. After some research, I found that both original and compatible printing paper without BPA exists. The price is slightly higher, so I opted for BPA-free paper. Interestingly, I also discovered some paper designed for long-term storage. Detail: The front of the device features a lens-like design, which is quite aesthetically pleasing. The upper left corner houses the power button, which also serves as a work indicator. When printing, it lights up to indicate activity. This printer has a built-in battery, meaning you can print anytime, anywhere without needing an external power source. The back of the machine displays its nameplate, indicating a 5V 1A power supply and the model P1. The top of the printer includes the paper exit and a serrated paper cutter. There are no interfaces on the left side of the machine, keeping it simple and clean. On the right side, you'll find the charging port, which uses the common micro USB interface. Opening the front of the printer reveals its internal structure, making it easy to replace the printing paper. However, the battery is built into the machine and cannot be replaced. Fortunately, the battery life is excellent. When I last checked, it had three-quarters of its charge left, ensuring it won’t run out when I need it! The print head works on the principle of generating heat to cause the paper to react thermally, producing black marks to display symbols. The printing paper is a small roll, measuring 57*30mm. Be mindful when purchasing, as thicker paper may not fit properly. The black guide wheels on the side should remain clean when replacing paper. Simply pull the paper here to assemble the machine and complete the setup. The paper exit shows the internal designer’s fully enclosed design, ensuring no parts fall out during paper replacement, adding peace of mind. APP and Printing: When entering the app, you're greeted with an account login screen. Like most products, creating an ecosystem and offering various rich content is essential. However, given the portability of this printer, it’s not necessary. Instead, there’s an offline login option in the upper right corner, allowing you to connect to the printer via Bluetooth without an internet connection or account registration. Direct wireless login enables you to connect to the printer directly. Once logged in offline, you can add devices, edit paper layouts, or access the treasure box feature. Users can design their own layouts, inserting pictures, text, various small patterns, and borders. The treasure box offers several commonly used quick features, such as lists or sticky notes, plain text printing, and easy copying and pasting of online text for quick printing. If you log in, you’ll see five major sections in the app: subscription numbers and material library, wrong print, direct print function, personal accounts and settings, and device management. I’ll explain each section below. The first section is the social function, with a plus sign in the upper right corner. Here, you can add some useful features for registered users. If you don’t want to register, you can still communicate and send notes. Another major function is adding subscription numbers, which you can update daily to print out content for reading or use. You can also save some printed materials and use the layout when editing the paper. It’s quite versatile. This is the material library, where you can find materials by classification, such as lace patterns. Beating the title print is a more practical function, not only for backing up missed content but also for printing when needed. You can also photograph other materials that need to be backed up. OCR functionality is also available, recognizing text, copying, or printing with acceptable accuracy. After choosing to save, you can categorize the content for easier retrieval later. Saved data can be searched and printed out anytime! Speaking of scanning, I must mention that the Scan Almighty King is truly a remarkable scanning tool. Using this software with the printer is incredibly efficient, and the generated black and white scans are clear and legible. When it comes to OCR, TextGrabber from ABBYY is a highly productive software. Its recognition rate is impressive, making it a powerful tool. Entering the note editing section reveals a rich array of functions. It’s akin to a small ticket editor, where text can be directly inserted into text boxes or text bubbles. Options include inserting various cute expressions or time stamps. Pictures can also be edited, and the inserted expressions, text, and pictures can all be dragged and resized to suit the user’s typesetting needs. You can also choose to print small tickets with lace borders, convert text content into QR codes, or doodle freely. The treasure chest is a daily practical feature, offering quick input and output without the need for typesetting. It’s highly efficient but lacks personalization. Examples include to-do lists, where you can select a template and enter tasks for printing. Web page printing utilizes a built-in browser. Simply browse to what you want to output and click print below. Banner printing allows horizontal text printing, capable of printing 50mm fonts for more conspicuous placement. Plain text printing simply copies and prints text. Finally, the account and settings section includes the official mall, where you can purchase official printing paper. If you’re worried about counterfeit BPA-free paper on Taobao, you can buy from the official store, albeit at a higher price. The rest pertains to the printer, including help and feedback, and printer settings. Here, you can view remaining battery power, set automatic shutdown times, and customize the machine’s name. Because I don’t do hand accounts, I don’t use sticky notes. I mostly discard printed tickets. These are some of my recent prints. Printing stickers and pasting them directly where needed is quite convenient. To Sum Up: This is a pocket printer, much like a notebook, except you don’t need to write anything. You simply type out or view useful content on your phone and output it. There are numerous ways to use it. Post-printing costs are very low. If you need it, it’s a great helper, especially if you dislike writing or have forgotten how to. Advantages: 1) Compact body, no burden to carry. 2) Built-in battery, no external power supply needed, print anytime, anywhere. 3) Rich app content with low learning curve. Disadvantages: 1) No official sticker printing paper available. 2) The power indicator is too bright—I hope it uses softer lighting in the future. 3) Official printing paper prices are slightly higher, which might push consumers toward the compatible market. 4) No Wi-Fi, so direct printing isn’t possible (not sure if this is intentional to differentiate the product).
