Don’t let yourself be limited by the thoughts of others — that’s living with the results of someone else’s mind. Don’t let the noise of other people’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. Most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
(Your time is limited, so don’t live for others. Don’t let yourself be trapped by dogma. Don’t live in the minds of others. Don’t let other people’s views influence your inner voice. The most important thing is to bravely follow your soul and your intuition. Only your own thoughts can guide you, everything else is just background.)
- Steve Paul Jobs
At 1 am on September 13th, Beijing time, Apple held its annual "Technology Spring Festival Evening" — the "Apple 2017 Autumn New Product Launch Conference" at the Jobs Theater in Apple Park. The event introduced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the 10th Anniversary iPhone X. This was the first time three new iPhones were unveiled at the same time in Apple’s history.
The venue, named after Steve Jobs, carried a strong sense of nostalgia and mystery, especially with the tenth anniversary of the iPhone. The new “one more thing†— the iPhone X — brought a lot of innovative features. Let’s take a closer look.

A11 Bionic Processor with Neural Engine
The A11 chip in the iPhone X saw significant improvements over its predecessor. It still uses the industry-leading 10nm process technology. The A11 has a total of six cores: two high-performance Monsoon cores and four low-power Mistral cores. Compared to the previous A10X, the energy-efficient cores are 70% faster, and the performance cores are 25% better.

But it's the "bionic" part that makes it stand out. The A11 includes a neural engine capable of up to 600 billion operations per second. Currently, it supports fast Face ID analysis and will play a key role in future AI and deep learning applications.
Wireless Charging + Fast Charging
iPhone X supports wireless charging but not long-range wireless charging. It also supports fast charging, allowing users to charge 50% in just 30 minutes.

Apple chose to join the WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) and adopted the Qi standard. The new wireless charger, called AirPower, can charge an iPhone 8/8 Plus/X, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously.

Face Recognition Unlock – Face ID
iPhone X replaced Touch ID with Face ID. Instead of using fingerprint recognition, it uses a sophisticated system of sensors and cameras. It projects over 30,000 invisible light points onto your face and creates a depth map. Infrared scanning then compares this data for secure unlocking.

It uses the A11’s neural engine and TrueDepth camera for faster and more accurate facial recognition. It even detects if you're looking at the screen. It works even when you're wearing glasses or have a different hairstyle. The chance of a random unlock is one in a million.
OLED Full-Screen Design
The iPhone X features a stunning OLED display, the first on an iPhone. The screen covers almost the entire front, except for the sensor area. It's called the "Super Retina Display," featuring a 5.8-inch screen with 2436 x 1125 resolution, 458 ppi, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Double-Sided Glass + Stainless Steel Frame
The iPhone X has a double-sided glass design with a surgical-grade stainless steel frame. It offers wireless charging, water resistance, and a sleek, modern look.

Camera Improvements
The iPhone X features a dual rear camera system with f/1.8 and f/2.4 apertures, improved low-light performance, and optical image stabilization. The front camera is hidden under the "notch" and enables advanced features like Face ID and Animoji.

New Interaction System
With no physical home button, the iPhone X uses swipe gestures for navigation. Swiping up from the bottom brings up the home screen, while swiping up and holding opens multitasking.

Animated Expressions – Animoji
Using the TrueDepth camera, the iPhone X can track facial movements and create animated emojis. These Animoji can be sent via iMessage, offering a fun and personal way to communicate.

Summary of "Black Tech"
The iPhone X represents a major leap in smartphone technology. From the all-screen design to Face ID and Animoji, it's pushing the boundaries of what a phone can do. As Apple continues to innovate, we can expect these features to influence the next generation of smartphones.
